• Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more per term) or part-time student at the University of Southern California or one of our cross-town schools.

  • If you attend a crosstown community college, you will be required to transfer to one of our crosstown schools that provide a Bachelor's Degree. Students may take 2 years of community college, followed by 2 years at a 4-year university to earn a Bachelor’s degree. It is a requirement to obtain a Bachelor's degree to Commission. 

  • Must have at least 3 years remaining before graduating with your undergraduate degree.

  • If you have previously taken college-level courses, you must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.


  • Be in good physical condition and able to pass a Physical Fitness Assessment once per semester. Passing requires a score of 90 or higher on the PFA.

  • Cadets attend physical training at least twice a week with the cadet wing. Physical training is held at USC and select crosstown schools. Crosstown cadets may have to commute to USC in order to fulfill the physical training requirements.

  • All cadets must conform to the maximum weight and body fat standards as established by the United States Air Force. 


  • New cadets that do NOT have an active DoDMERB exam will need a sports physical before starting the program.

  • 14 years of age or older (17 years or older to receive a scholarship)

  • Rated (Pilot, Combat Systems Officer, Air Battle Manager and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Pilot) must commission before reaching the age of 29

  • Scholarship applicants must be younger than 31 years old as of December 31 of the year you will be commissioned

  • Tech, nontech, and nonrated—commissioned by age 39 (waiverable up to age 42)
