Life after Det 060 leads some to some pretty cool places. Check out a few of our alumni and their accomplishments.

Lt Gen Stayce B. Harris (RET.)

Lt. Gen. Stayce D. Harris was the former Inspector General of the Air Force. She received her commission from USC in 1981 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and systems engineering. She served on active duty until joining the Air Force Reserve in 1991. Prior to her current position, General Harris served as the Assistant Vice Chief of Staff and Director, Air Staff, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Maj gen scott zobrist

Maj. Gen. Scott J. Zobrist was the Commander, 9th Air Force, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. Earning a commission from USC in 1986 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Zobrist graduated from Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard AFB, TX. He flew the F-16 and has over 2,500 flight hours. Prior to his current assignment, General Zobrist served as the Deputy Commander, U.S. Air Forces Central Command, and Deputy Commander, Combined Force Air Component and was responsible for the command and control of air operations in a 20-nation area of responsibility covering Central and Southwest Asia, to include Operation Resolute Support in Afghanistan and Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq and Syria.



maj matt kimmel

Former Thunderbird pilot and lead solo, Maj Kimmel is an Airmen of Troy alum. He graduated in 2008 and went on to fly the F-16 at the 79th Fighter Squadron. He consulted on the set of Captain Marvel. Kimmel has accumulated more than 1,500 flight hours and flown in 179 combat missions, supporting operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Southwest Asia.

CAPT MELANIE ZIEBART

Capt Ziebart is a F-35B Lightning II pilot, serving aboard the USS America. She commissioned from USC in 2014 and attended Euro-NATO Joint Jet pilot training program. She was selected to fly the F-16 Viper and served at 80th Fighter Squadron at Kunsan Air Base, Korea. She is now one of six Air Force pilots serving on the amphibious assault ship flying in Marine squadrons. After her inter-service experience, she aims to be an instructor pilot at an Air Force squadron.
